School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)

Start your Initial Teacher Training next September through Peninsula SCITT. Whether you are looking to get into teaching straight from university or change career, are based locally already or want to make a move to Cornwall to start a new career in teaching; Peninsula SCITT can offer the school based training to enable you to become a qualified teacher and would be delighted to have the opportunity to work with you.

  • A one year school based teacher training programme for graduates
  • Delivered by experienced, current teachers and senior leaders
  • Led from a training centre located within the Outstanding Penrice Academy in St Austell
  • Placements available across Cornwall through our large network of partner schools
  • Working in partnership with Plymouth University to enable trainees to gain their PGCE as well as QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) through face to face training and tutorials

We currently provide Initial Teacher Training in Secondary (11-19) in the following subjects; Art & Design, Biology, Chemistry, Design & Technology, Drama, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Modern languages with French, Modern Languages with Spanish, Music, PE & Physics

Applications for a September 2018 start can be made through UCAS from Thursday 26th October 2017.
