School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)

A one year Teacher Training programme for graduates leading to QTS and a PGCE. Led from an Outstanding Cornish school and based almost entirely within schools in Cornwall.

  • a one year programme based within schools in Cornwall
  • working in partnership with Plymouth University to enable trainees to gain their PGCE through face to face training with University Tutors in Cornwall
  • a large proportion of your course time will be spent on placement within Cornish schools, supported by teaching and learning, subject enhancement and professional studies sessions – also led from schools within Cornwall
  • through the Peninsula SCITT programme graduates can gain QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and their PGCE

We offer Initial Teacher Training in; Art & Design, Biology, Chemistry, Design & Technology, Drama, English, Geography, History, Maths, Modern languages, Music, PE, Physics, Primary – general (with Mathematics)
