The offer this year is exciting, providing a range of opportunities to develop varying cohorts of staff with aspects of teaching and learning and leadership skills. The courses and training on offer ensure that NQTs, RQTs, middle/senior leaders as well as aspiring leaders have an opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding. Similarly, due to the success of this year’s Exceptional Leadership course, we are again using inspirational and renowned speakers, bringing the national agenda of education to Cornwall.
This coming year, we also have a high quality Coaching programme, with Level 1 ‘Introduction to Coaching’ training and Level 2 ‘Advanced Skills Coaching’ which is accredited by the Institute of Educational Coaching. This training will give middle leaders/senior leaders the toolkit to support both underperforming and exceptional staff, promoting effective change, as well as considering how to develop a school CPD model based around coaching principles.
We are also developing collaborative CPLD opportunities with Teaching Schools across Cornwall to forge links with Kingsbridge Research School and the EEF.
